We are already at the mid-quarter. 4 1/2 weeks left of heath and then those students that have the Health class will be moving on to a different allied class.
Here is an update of what's been going on and what is coming up:
7th Grade: 24-hour food logs are due Monday October 4th. Students used the My Pyramid website to analyze a day's worth of eating. Cool stuff. Two units left; Alcohol, Tobacco, and Illegal Drugs, as well at Chronic and Communicable diseases.
8th Grade: We are finishing CPR and First Aid today. Yesterday we talked about head, neck, or back injuries. We actually back-boarded a couple of volunteers in class! Up next, Human Growth and Development.
As always, feel free to call or email with questions.
Almost 2-weeks of school done, and we are in full swing in Health. 7th graders will take their first quiz on Friday of this week, covering decision-making, stress management, self-esteem, and character.
8th graders are in action learning about basic first aid and being ready for an emergency. This week they made their own plan on how to evacuate the building incase of a fire emergency!
As always, check back often for more updates.
We have begun our first unit today, talking about decision-making. We talked about the healthy process that goes into making a good decision as well. Homework for tomorrow...answer this question. What is the message of the "Great American Jackalope"?
